Count Your Golden Moments of 2017
Inspiration for women entrepreneurs and female business owners
In the quiet moments of the days between Christmas and New Year’s Day lies a treasure trove of memories and lessons from the past year. As the days rush from January 1st to December 31st in a colorful array of happiness, sadness, disappointments, triumphs, heartbreak and love we forget the morsels of wisdom gleaned as we live each day of the year. As an event, vacation or year comes to a close; I always reflect back on the most significant moments that standout in my mind.
Because I often share my personal and business thoughts with you each Wednesday, I wanted to share my top five moments of 2017 to share their wealth and hopefully motivate you to think bigger in 2018 since the gold I found in 2017 came from taking big risks.
* Organized and took 110 women to the Women’s March on Washington DC to stand up for women’s rights which are human rights.
* Raised $8,000 from 120 wonderful people for 261Fearless.org and my goal to run in the Boston Marathon which I did successfully within the six hour limit to get my beautiful medal.
* Helped to promote the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in New York State which ended at a private New York City reception overlooking Manhattan with Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul and my two sons Thomas and Adam.
* Celebrated the 8th Anniversary of the Women TIES Retreat with two partners and new attendees proving women in business can come together, putting competition behind them, to be more powerful together.
* Coming together in collaboration with two new female friends to plan and celebrate women on January 19-21, 2018 with the “CNY Women Rising Weekend.”
Sprinkled between these big accomplishments was the honor of spending thousands of minutes with women who inspire me every single day in entrepreneurship. 22 years of connecting, educating and supporting women entrepreneurs remains the biggest accomplishment of my life. To think I am too tired to continue my two decades of passion for you and your success is not possible. I remain as energized as ever to advance women – especially women in business.
Today’s Wednesday Wisdom is to inspire you to create a list of your top five best professional moments or events in 2017. Keep them close to you as you look forward to 2018. Create a list of special people who have supported you and new people you have met because every new chapter brings in new characters to enrich our lives. Finally, write down five goals for 2018. I’d like you to shoot really high – even in the impossible realm – if you can. I will dedicate a portion of the 2018 Wednesday Wisdoms to listing our members biggest goals and accomplishments to keep us all motivated so make sure to share them with me.
Until next year, enjoy your beautiful moments and gifts of the past year. You are for sure one of my favorite gifts. I hope the New Year brings us together more often. Happy 2018!
